What is candle sand?

A 100% plant-based wax in the form of sand, also known as powdered candle wax. Poured into a heat-resistant container with a wick, it becomes a sand candle that is refillable and customisable. Read the complete guide.

How do I make a sand candle?

Pour the sand into a heat-resistant container at least 8 cm in diameter, insert the wick without touching the bottom and leave about 5 mm showing, add a few drops of fragrance if you wish, then light it.

How long does a sand candle last?

About 200 hours of burn time per 500 g of sand, depending on the container, the number of wicks and conditions of use.

Is the sand candle refillable?

Yes. Once the candle has cooled, remove the wax shell that has formed around the wick, crumble it into the sand and insert a new wick. You can also add sand or change colour and fragrance.

Is Maison Charlee candle sand natural?

Our candle sand is a 100% plant-based, vegan wax, formulated without CMR substances and compliant with the European REACH regulation. It burns cleanly, without black smoke.

Which container should I use?

Any heat-resistant container at least 8 cm in diameter: glass, concrete, ceramic. Discover our containers in the Accessories collection.

Do I have to add fragrance?

No, it is optional. A few drops of our fragrances created in Grasse are enough, and you choose the intensity.

What do the packs contain?

Each pack brings together 100% plant-based candle sand, a Grasse fragrance of your choice and wicks. The Pack Prestige also includes the Le Charlee glass container. See the packs.

What are the delivery costs and times?

Delivery to a Mondial Relay Point Relais from €4.15, free from €44.90 in France. Delivery in 3 to 5 working days. You choose your pick-up point right after payment.

Can I return a product?

Yes, within 14 days of receipt, under the conditions of our returns policy. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer.

Is it a good gift idea?

A sand candle is put together to suit everyone's taste. Our packs are ready to give, and the gift card leaves the choice open.

Do you offer personalisation?

Yes: we personalise the label of our 250 g box from 25 boxes, for weddings, births or corporate gifts. For Christmas 2026, please order by 25 November 2026. Request a quote.

What precautions should I take?

Never leave a flame unattended, keep the candle out of reach of children and pets, use a heat-resistant container and put it out with a snuffer. View the safety data sheets.
